MicroBiology Water Analysis

Our Microbiological water analysis laboratory is KENAS accredited and operates to strict quality control standards. This provides our customers with the accurate identification of a number of waterborne bacteria and is a center for excellence in Legionella and Endotoxin analysis but are also capable of performing an extensive range of water testing and analyses for other waterborne pathogens including those for E.coli, Coliforms, Pseudomonas, TVC’s, & others.

Aqualytic provides comprehensive water testing analysis for the detection of waterborne pathogens. Our services include cultures for the detection

  • Legionella, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Total Viable Count and Endotoxin.
  • Listeria, E. coli, Fecal coliforms, Enterococcus, Salmonella, Clostridium, perfringens and Legionella

E. Coli water testing is done to analyze water for faecal contamination whether animal or other sewage contamination. Along with Coliform and TVC/Aerobic Colony Count, this microbial potability (drinking) water analysis can be used to give a good indication of the quality of the water and whether disinfection or other control measures need to be taken.

Chemical Water Analysis

Our Chemistry laboratory helps hundreds of companies every year to understand their water chemistry to highlight and mitigate potential quality problems on each application. The analysis test report forms the principle guide on the corrective action or the treatment system to be installed so as the water can meet the set specifications.

Most of the applications includes dialysis and hemodialysis, pharmaceutical use, water bottling, cooking and drinking, food and beverage processes, boiler and cooling systems, irrigation and hydroponics, effluent discharge, borehole and ground water extraction and other industrial applications.

Aqualytic uses latest analytical technique in analysis of basic chemical potability parameters that include but not limited to: –

  • pH, Conductivitya, Fluoride, Hardness, Total dissolved Solids, Copper and Conductivity.
  • Alkalinity, Chloride, Iron, Manganese, Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite, Phosphate and Chlorine.

In industrial effluent and Wastewater additional key parameters are critical to monitor the quality as per NEMA guidelines under EMCA Environmental management Co-ordination Act 2006. These includes

  • Biochemical Oxygen Demand
  • Chemical Oxygen Demand
  • Oil and Grease
  • Surfactants
  • Total Nitrogen
chemical

Other industrial applications require specific parameters to be monitored as per the set specifications, these include: –

  • Silica
  • Colloidal Silica
  • Alkalinity
  • Total Organic Carbon
  • Silt Density Index

Chemical Water Analysis

metal

There are many occasions when testing water for heavy metals content is required such as potability (drinking water), wastewater discharge and process waters. Secondly in food quality to ascertain any contamination and safety before consumption or even export purposes it’s a requirement for analysis of these trace elements. Aqualytic Laboratories is building a capacity for the most advanced technology in Graphite Atomic Spectroscopy to achieve parts per billion concentration detection and quantification.
